Recognition - The decision of the Council for Higher Education to grant to an institution of higher education (which has been granted a Permit) recognition according to Section 9 of the Council for Higher Education Law 1958/5718, turns this institution into a recognized institution of higher education which enjoys academic and administrative autonomy according to Section 15 of the Council for Higher Education Law.

An institution of higher education which has achieved recognition can grant academic degrees only in the fields for which it is accredited to grant academic degrees by the Council for Higher Education.
