Converging Technologies Program
Scholarship for Excellence in Converging Technologies Program - Pilot Program
The field of converging technologies is today at the forefront of research and development in the majority of developed countries. The PBC, in cooperation with the Finance Ministry and the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Universities, has formed a program whose aim is to promote training, research and development in converging technologies by integrating a number of scientific disciplines from the following areas: the exact sciences and engineering, life sciences, natural sciences, medicine and cognitive sciences. This scholarship program targets students whose universities have identified them as outstanding from the middle of their first year of studies through their doctorate and who are studying and doing research or intending to do research in a wide variety of areas. Applicants should note that the more divergent the fields of study and research are from one another the greater is the chance of winning a larger scholarship. The scholarships are awarded beginning in the second year of study for a bachelor’s degree up to and including the doctorate. The right to continue holding the scholarship is not automatic; rather it is conditional on receiving approval from the selection committee at the end of each year and depends on the scholar’s progress.

Research Grants for Absorption of Outstanding Scientists from Abroad in the Converging Technologies Program-Pilot Program
The Research Grant Program for outstanding scientists from abroad in the field of Converging Technologies is meant to encourage the return of outstanding scientists from abroad who are involved in the field of converging technologies, and integrating them in research universities in Israel.
A research grant is intended for the initial absorption of the scientist. The amount of the grant will be determined by the basic investment required for the purpose of establishing and initially equipping a research laboratory with infrastructure for research, and the initial costs involved in bringing the scientist to Israel.
